Let's start with some history of the farm. My Name is Ed Ledzinski and I've been farming with my late Uncle's since the early 80's. I was 12 when I came to live on the farm with my uncle's and have been farming ever since then.
My Grandfather purchased the 200-acre farm in Carroll County from the Schilling's brothers who had it for 20 years. The original owners were the Green Family of 7 generations that's where the name comes from.
After my grandfather's passing my uncle's continued to farm and raise truck crops and hogs and cattle.
I joined the partnership after high school and continued to be a big part of the farm.
After the market fell out, we stopped raising hogs and concentrated strictly on Angus cattle.
The farm is self-sustained. We raise all our feed for the cattle.
Our Angus cows eat wrapped hay in the winter and grass fed in the summer. Our butchering cattle are fed out with a custom feed ration that is grown on the farm from corn and dried alfalfa. We don't use premixes, antibiotics or any other feed additives.
We are a member of the American Angus Association for over 40 years. Our carcasses are high grading either choice or prime.
We sell a lot of wholesale carcasses that go to restaurants.
We offer piece meat, whole beef, halves and quarters.
In taking over the farm in late 2019 my wife Pam and I started Green Farm Angus Beef.
Hoping to continue the Family business for many years to come.
